faran
As you can see from the title, both needs TLC. Bandit does not need much to be road ready, while 1050 doesn't start and could be a myriad of problems. I know bandits had issues with piston, but that one isn't affected. Also, Triumph can have a sprag clutch issue, expensive fix! Any thoughts on either of these and which one should I consider for 2 up 200+ miles rides? Thanks for the help and input
Member Contributer thtanner Posted June 20, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted June 20, 2017 I guess a VFR is out of the question. The bandit is carbed, right? That'd be the up and downside. The Sprint is nice, too, but they had some issues if ridden in heat (i.e. mechanical engine failure type problems.) I think they fixed that in the 2009 refresh. Member Contributer Woodie Posted June 21, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted June 21, 2017 The Sprag Clutch fault was on the earlier 955i engine Triumphs, the 1050 is a much newer design. As for heat issues, I live in the UK the only heat issues is we don't have any .. LOL. it's a very vague description.. "Doesn't start" Personally I would ride the Triumph over the bandit (I'm on my second Sprint) also you don't say which sprint... the earlier ST or the GT.
