Getter
Anybody ever had an oil sight glass leaking? If so, how did you fix it? Other than replacing the right cover...
SEBSPEED
I have not had one leak, but I have removed and reinstalled a lot of them. If you remove your cover, clean it, and press the sight window out using a socket on the glass side + hand pressure/body weight, you will then be able to clean the bore and the rubber seal. Once the parts are clean you can reinstall the sight window with some high temp RTV or Hondabond to restore the seal. The window can be pressed back in again with hand pressure and an appropriately sized socket or other tube that just fits over the metal part on the back. Take a picture of the front and back of the sight so you can check it later and be sure you've installed it correctly. Top tip, clean the side of the metal part that faces the glass with a q-tip, to make your level easier to read.
Getter
Thanks! Getting tired of the oil blowing back on my foot rest bracket, but really don't want to shell out for the whole side cover. I'd much rather spend the $ on a louder slip-on!
