Where does the manual go?

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a 2010 VFR800.

Just wondering where I put the manual?!?

I've tried fitting it under the seat under the rubber cord thing, and I just can't get it to fit.

That's where it fits on all my other bikes, yet, just can't do it on the VFR.

I don't want to be stuck somewhere without the manual.

What does everyone else do?

On yr phone which is in yr pocket or tank bag.

That's where mine go.

You could put the relevant information in a note on your phone. I keep mine at home, only pull it out for torque values, capacities, and bulb numbers. I don't carry a torque wrench on the bike, so that just leaves capacities and bulbs.

In the Garage next to the Lump hammer and the Angle Grinder.

Mine is still in the clear plastic case under the seat secured by those rubber things.

Hey, can you take a picture of it or tell me how you are supposed to put it back in / take it out?

I cannot for the life of me seem to do it.

I recommend keeping it in the bathroom and reading it back and forth. Then on a shelf with your repair manual and any accessory manuals. It will be ruined under the seat. Tank bag if you must have it with you. I have never once in 10 bikes, 30 years and hundreds of thousands of miles needed my owners manual on a ride.

Here ya go.  Threw in a pic of the owners manual for my Suzuki that also has been under the seat since I bought it.   No damage or degradation to the manuals so far so see no need to place 'em anywhere else.  Oh yeah I just take the rubber band off the hook and push the manual slightly to the right and lift it out.  It's a tight fit but it comes out pretty easy.
