Member Contributer Africord Posted April 17, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted April 17, 2017 Hi, I just had the dealer install a new chain and sprockets on my 6th gen. The sprockets are Honda, and the chain is DID VX 530 Pro-Street. I've ridden the bike for the past 40,000 miles and now I have a constant clicking. I know I need to take it back, but any suggestions that I can use to direct them?
Member Contributer MarkDetroit Posted April 17, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted April 17, 2017 With the bike on the center stand can you hear the click when you spin the rear tire by hand? Does it happen when the chain is in any certain location? Is the slack set properly? It may be too tight. Find the riveted link. Is the side plate set correctly? You can measure that with calipers. Can you feel any binding in that link? (You may have to loosen the chain to check that with certainty...) Have the sprocket fasteners been tightened to spec? Also look at the front sprocket to see if it seems loose or wobbles on it's spine. Good Luck and let us know what you find.
