Member Contributer Terry Posted July 25, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted July 25, 2017 I had a misfire under load on my ST1100, traced it back to low voltage reaching the coils and poor sparks as a result. The cause was corrosion in a connector that supplied power to the ECU. You could also check the coils for appropriate resistance on the primary and secondary sides. Damn. I was hoping for carburetor issues, something I can handle. But electrical. Hate it. So, which one is the one to forth cylinder? Secondary and primary side is where? Rough acceleration over 5000 rpm, feels like misfire. Does backfire or poff poff when released throttle after acceleration. The last one can be due to the exhaust (slip on) being replaced.
