SubjectArc
Hi everyone, as the riding season draws near, I've been doing the internet gear trawling to pass the time. As a US consumer, there's some really great deals to be had. $300 Kreiga bags on Revzilla being had from Northern Ireland @ $170 shipped. Dainese Fighter Jackers for $700 on Revzilla? $496 shipped from motostorm.it, plus a 60 Euro credit with a review. I had a question about a German website. http://www.gsg-mototechnik.de/ They have some great looking no-cut sliders I'd love to purchase, the T-Rex's look very cumbersome, and I'm not of a mind to drill fitment holes in something I'm meant to protect. Unfortunately, the vendor doesn't seem to have much in the way of online payment. After sending an email, I was informed they'd write up an invoice and send along their bank information for a account transfer. Has anyone done any business with these folks? The website appears excellent and professional, but the purchase process smacks of a CraigsList ripoff. Love to make sure this is a reputable establishment before firing off funds into the unknown. Member Contributer Dutchy Posted February 16, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted February 16, 2017 Yes, I (on behalf of Huntinggunns) dealt/spoke with them; he was very pleased with his sliders. Drop him a PM for I think he was about to sell one of his bikes (and thus have a slider set available. They are NO rip-off, just an old-fashioned manufacturer that does not source in China and flip them around.... :-)
Member Contributer huntinggunns Posted February 16, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted February 16, 2017 Thanks Leon for the heads up, tapa talk has been acting goofy on my phone. I do have a set, 2 sets as a matter of fact. Along with a ton of other parts for the 8th gen. I had them posted a while back but I'll post them up again this afternoon. Send me a pm SA if your interested in a set. These are the best quality, best looking sliders for the 8th gen I've seen in my opinionSent from my SGH-T999L using Tapatalk
Member Contributer JZH Posted February 17, 2017 Member Contributer Share Posted February 17, 2017 Germany has always lagged behind in the electronic consumerism department. It took them ages to go from bank GIRO transfers and TANs (don't ask) to credit cards, so its not surprising that some corners of the motorcycle specialist parts retailing market have not yet fully progressed into the 21st century. I wouldn't worry too much about the payment medium, but I would be a little concerned if I transferred a wedge of money to someone by bank transfer and my stuff never showed up. You'd be pretty much screwed. At least with credit cards there is some mechanism for compensation (though your country's protections may not apply to foreign transactions--check first). Another thing inexperienced international sellers may not understand is that there is generally no VAT (19% in Germany) chargeable on exports from the European Union, and VAT is usually included in the retail price, so you should not be paying retail if they're going to be exporting the goods. Good luck! Ciao,
