Cleaning the Swingarm

Recommended Posts

There are black marks on the swingarm that I can't remove and I suspect it's rubber from a boot heel. So far I've tried silicon furniture polish, WD40 and nail varnish remover. Any other suggestions that will remove these marks?

Starting with the furniture polish was probably a poor idea.

Have you tried one of the spray detailers like Honda Pro Polish?  Those things have a solvent-like base that seems to take rubber scuffs away without too much elbow grease.  The swingarm can get a little tricky because it's not a smooth surface.

I use kerosene for all grunge cleaning of chain, swing arm, rims. Buy a gallon. Put on some rubber gloves. Soak a rag with kerosene and Bob's your Uncle.
