Hello guys,

im new to the forums and wanted to show you my 1998 Honda VFR 800 originally from USA. I bought it last year with 42k miles on it for a reasonable price.

It came with few mods:

  • CNC red eloxed grips and levers
  • Black tinted wind screen
  • chrome frame and rim lips
  • rear seat cowl
  • new brake rotors front and rear
  • aftermarket chrome exhaust slip-on (no idea about the brand)

As i didnt have any service history available from previous owner and the motorcycle was not in the best shape (from maintenance point of view), I basically had to do everything to make sure nothing is going to brake on me unexpectedly.

During the first months I've done following:

  • oil and oil filter change (Motul 5100 10w40)
  • air filter change
  • brake fluid change and brake system clean
  • clutch fluid change
  • clutch springs change
  • new tires front and rear (Pirelli Angel ST)
  • coolant change (Motul Motocool Expert)

There were also few things I checked like for - like oil leaks, proper charging, chain tension...the usual stuff. After all this when we had first warm days in the spring I went for a ride and immediately fell in love with this bike - its sound and engine whine.

And this is how she looks now:

Is there a way to switch temperature units from °F to °C? That would really help me as Im not able to quickly convert those while riding and seeing numbers like 200 feels kinda wrong to me :)

Thank you

Bad

Welcome.

I don't think there is, but could be wrong.

Good preventative efforts there!

No, I also don't believe you can change from F to C or vice versa.

On some models from someone countries it has been possible to go from empirical to metric by pressing and holding a button on the dash. In certain angles of light I could see the symbols on my 6th gen, so the hardware came set up but it just wouldn't switch the display over, not in the ECU's programming for Spain.
