THRASHED
I have an 87 and keep having clutch pressure issues. If I sit with the clutch lever pulled in, it will often bleed off pressure. Of course this changes the engagement and makes the bike a bit of a pain to start off without stalling. I have rebuilt the MC and Slave three times and the inside of the piston sleeve (if that is what it is called) is shiny like a mirror with no burrs. Because the I have no leaks down below, and because the clutch fluid in the reservoir sometimes turns blackish, I'm assuming it's the perch that is the issues. Is there possibly a better rubber for the piston, or are there choices for new MCs? I
Member Contributer Duc2V4 Posted September 9, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted September 9, 2016 I would suspect the rubber line is the issue. I would just replace it with a Steel braided line and call it a day. They are not that expensive and considering you rebuilt the MC and Slave this is the only part you didn't appear to have replaced/touched, it would seem logical that it's the issue.
