I was plugging "terrorist" way before the term got popular.

Boys and their motorcycles.

Tens of millions of gun owners in the US, 99.9% of them never fired in anger. I find that those most strongly opposed to firearms are those who have never handled one or learned to shoot properly, and most of them that give it a try begrudgingly admit that it's enjoyable.

Mr Kim Jong-un said, "We will bury you."
I don't subscribe to his point of view.
Such an ignorant thing to do.
I hope the North Koreans love their children too.

It's like stepping out of a time machine straight back into the mid f&ckin' eighties.

Haha, opening up a huge debate on gun policy there m8. :beatdeadhorse:

Such a difference in attitude between those outside looking in and those inside the US, and so many big divisions within the US. Difficult to justify the tens of thousands of deaths caused by guns (From 2012 to 2014, on average, 1,297 children died annually from a gun-related injury in the US, according to the study, published in the journal Pediatrics on Monday - source) but then how would you change to a land with no guns. They're a bit like nukes....once you have them you can uninvent them and they're almost impossible to get rid of. I'm just thankful I live where guns are not in common ownership, that they are saved for those specialist services that need them (and only when they need them). The day the British Bobby is routinely armed will be a very sad day imo and I hope it will never come.

A BBC article from 2016 with some interesting numbers.

In my experience, few people are qualified to really understand anything other than their own culture, so there's little point in commenting critically about someone else's culture.

Ciao,

I think that's a very true statement but there are also too many people that would have you believe that they are always in the arrogant position of defining the moral high ground and their point of view is superior to anyone else's.  Anyone that knows the history of, for example the U.S. and the U.K that can also critically think will understand the "why" of the different feelings about guns.  Personally, I like having the right to defend my religious and other freedoms, for example, from those that prefer to persecute me for what I believe.  Go ahead and forcefully impose yourself on me and deal with the consequences.  Freedom from despots and those that want to impose themselves on me for their gain and my loss is worth fighting for in my book.  What's all this have to do with motorcycles anyway?

There are plenty of deaths can that be attributed to the mishandling of anything. Just because you don't see the point in it doesn't mean your opinion should affect me. Besides the recreational aspect of it, as long as there are bad people in the world intentionally harming innocent people, I'm glad to have something to protect myself and my family. A hashtag and some Facebook profile picture thing don't do much for me, nor does waiting for help to arrive.

I didn't turn it into anything. I mentioned something about common terminology between motorcycles and guns, someone said something about be able to talk about guns, and it went from there, including an ironically violent anti-gun sentiment and a picture equating guns to penis compensators. It's a hobby, like anything else we do.

We wanna be free!
We wanna be free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man!
And we wanna get loaded!

We still love you mate. :)

The feeling's mutual!

I did try to get things back on track with the (I believe to be) Easy Rider quote.

A little sidetrack is fine occasionally, surely?

Guys, if anyone was upset by my posts, I apologise, that wasn't the intention. I wasn't trying to hold any moral high ground and I tend to agree with JZH about other cultures. Just trying to get an insight from a different, though related, culture.

Back to bikes.
