fonque
Is there an easy way to adjust the headlights up and down on my 5th gen? Is removing the upper cowl the only way to do it? Is there a trick I am missing?
Member Contributer VFROZ Posted June 13, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 13, 2016 There is 2 holes in the inside black cover in front of the forks and below the gauges that you insert a phillips screw driver to adjust them.
Member Contributer Terry Posted June 14, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 14, 2016 It takes a certain degree of faith to find the screw heads but if you keep probing around you'll find them eventually.

You can see the screw heads to guide the driver into them but you need to be lying on the floor looking up beneath the front fairing.
fonque
can anyone post a picture. I have aftermarket fairings and I suspect this hole is not there on mine.
Member Contributer Terry Posted June 14, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 14, 2016 Here's the picture from the owner's manual. The hole you want will be through the black trim piece that covers the instruments, in front of the fork legs. There are two holes, one for each headlight. Screw clockwise to raise. Member Contributer goose Posted June 16, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted June 16, 2016 Notice in Terry's pic that you need to turn the forks all the way to one side to access the adjustment. Put the bike on the center stand and when adjusting the height set them a touch low to compensate for having the ass up a little on the stand and no rider weight. fonque
my VFR does not have that hole. I am going to have to drill one to make way for the screw driver. Chinese fairings strike again.
