nicksorg
Quick question out of curiousity. I have an 83 V750F. Is this model referred to as an RC51 or is that just a UK reference? I did some searching and only seem to see that reference on European web sites. Thanks Nick
Member Contributer Rush2112 Posted March 25, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 25, 2016 RC51 is a completely different bike and is a US designation. An RC51 model is the RVT1000 and depending on the version referred to as SP1 or SP2.
Member Contributer Captain 80s Posted March 25, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 25, 2016 I think he got a little dyslexic. His thread title is correct. The VF750F has the VIN designator RC15. But they were never really referred to as such here in the States. My 83 has a small metallic sticker near the windscreen, "Type RC15"
Member Contributer JZH Posted March 25, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted March 25, 2016 All Hondas have these codes associated with them (and other codes, too), but they are usually not used as Model Names per se. Frankly, RC36 is easier to type than VFR750F! Ciao,
nicksorg
Captain 80s is correct. I mixed up the reference in the message body. I'm very familiar with the RC51, which is fact what made me think about this whole thread in the first place.
