VifferRiderUK
As the weather here in the UK is set to get a lot colder I removed the battery today to connect it up to an Optimate. The battery was sitting in a largish pool of water (I washed the bike last week). The battery compartment might need a pinhole in the base to act as a drain. Just FYI all... Member Contributer MaxSwell Posted January 14, 2016 Member Contributer Share Posted January 14, 2016 That's a good tip. Perhaps you could be more gentle with spraying the water while washing. I use a bucket to wash and a v gentle spray to rinse. No pressure washing.

VifferRiderUK
Aitch, just out of interest m8, why do you remove the battery? Hi G, I can't hook it up to an Optimate as I don't have power in my garage (too remote from the house). I take the battery off, to preserve it, if the weather is going into minus figures and I'm not going to use the bike for a while. PS your engine is still in my shed. Not had a chance to strip it further yet, but will do in the summer : ) Cheers mate, H
