Those look like hippo hands, but less appealing. They will work, and probably pretty good, especially with some heated grips. Need to be riding in some pretty cold weather to consider that though.

I have a set of these and heated grips that help my hands in the cold weather. They can rest on the brakes, so keep an eye out for that. But we'll with the laughter I get when I break them out.

In Europe you have every year the Elefantentreffen. On the coldest spot in Europe some 5000 biker meet each other and are camping in the snow.

Handlebar muffins with heating and heated shoes or boots means less frozen vingers and toes.

I bought a VFR this past December in another city such that I had a two-hour ride to bring it home. I bought a pair of these (similar to what you're looking at):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NOJ6IY

They made a huge difference riding in 40-degree weather at freeway speeds. Plus they are relatively easy to install/uninstall and carry easily in a backpack. The two most common points of difficulty are likely to be:

1. Does the muff fit on your handlebars without interfering with the controls?

2. Can you quickly re-insert your hand while riding?

With the set I had, #1 was not an issue, but #2 was a source of some stress, especially in around-town riding. Sometimes I had need to remove my left hand in order to adjust my visor or a mirror. If I then had need to brake quickly, it could be a bit of a panic moment while I tried to worm my hand back into the guantlet in order to reach the clutch. The set you are looking at appear's to have a shorter guantlet and the guantlet itself appears to be stiffer so it stays open a bit, both of which should greatly mitigate the problem I'm describing. If I had the purchase to do over again, I would get something more like what you are looking at.

I bought a cheap $10 set that were intended for 4 wheeler riders. I think they are Moose brand. They work great keeping your hands warm. I seam sealed and waterproofed them and my hands can stay dry through a monsoon! Probably the best cheap mc purchase I ever made. Understand that if you do not like to be the brunt of jokes they are probably not for you as they look like ass! However you will get the last laugh if you are riding in cold wet weather!

I'm using the GIVI TM418 ( http://www.givi.it/Accessori-moto-scooter/Accessories/TM418), price 35 Euro, universal type.

They are perfect, no interference, easy hands manouver, absolutely no problem.

Not nice to see, but, who care .... cold is worse than aestetic.

They do not hit the brake/clutch levers?

Absolutely not.

There is a lot of space inside.

Here you can see them installed on my VFR ; http://www.vfritaliaclub.it/node/3665

The glove is just inside the cover and they are rigid, so the opening is alway "full size".

I use the summer gloves, that is better with heated grips and the size is smaller than the winter type.

Looks good. Can you help me get a pair? They are not offer by GIVI USA!

Thanks for these posts, I am going to give them a try.

I tried a pair of these Oxford muffs last winter (13/14) on my 5th Gen and whilst they definitely help to keep your hands warm, they do interfere with the levers. I tried all I could but could simply not get them to stop snagging, especially at higher speeds and could never get comfortable with them.

If it hadn't been for the safety implications I would have persevered as they were so good at keeping to cold out. Mid-winter sub-zero, heated grips and you could wear summer gloves.
