Got the bike torn apart today; I was able to straighten the instrument panel bracket enough to get it & the fairing back in place. Put new brake/clutch levers on. Now just need mirrors to be legal and a windshield would be nice~

The left turn signal wasn't working so I figured it was broken in the fall. Turns out it just fell out of the socket was lying inside the lens!

12 feet of gravel and 14" wide... YIKES! It may not seem like it now but you were very very fortunate. Glad you're ok!

Pics look like easy replacement and repairs....any damage to the frame or tank?

Thanks~

No frame damage--tank has a couple of light scratches but that's it.

Thanks to the kindness of folks here on this forum, I've found almost all the pieces I need for shipping cost alone or a very reasonable price. Thank you to meangene & timmythecop for their generous deals as well as others who've made offers to help. As I said before, this is my only transportation right now & I'm living on a shoestring budget, so it's been a godsend to have folks step up & help!

The only part I'm missing is the front cowl but I've found one on ebay for $280 including turn signal lenses so I'm going to grab that as soon as I can save up the cash.

You guys ROCK!

  • 1 year later...

I hate those tar and gravel virginia back roads. They do it because its fast and cheap. They dont even sweep after they get done. It takes the cars a few weeks to push all the loose grave to the outside of the road. I see that kind of pavement and I really slow down and ride in the wheel tracks of the cars. Ouch....
