Guest 2001VFR800FI
2001 VFR 800 Fi. With ignition on all lights and displays come on. Cannot hear the fuel pump charge. Engine cranks, no fuel smell. Can hear a rely click on and then off in area of fuel cut relay. What do I test first?

Member Contributer Havagan Posted December 25, 2013 Member Contributer Share Posted December 25, 2013 See if you are getting 12v at the brown connector under the tank. http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/74593-putting-the-2000-vfr-back-on-the-road/
Guest
Both the Honda Service manual and the Haynes Manual are pretty clear: If you have 12 v across the 2P connector under the tank for a few seconds after ignition is on you need to replace the fuel pump. I have the voltage present and will replace the pump. Preplexed as to why it would die. The rubber skirt, not the rubber gasket is not in good shape, probably due to ethanol mixed gasoline.
