Upgrade To Hazards And Flash-to-pass Switch On An '02 is it plug and play?

My hi/lo beam switch is breaked (just the button/lever) and since I can't buy just that part, I was wondering if I could purchase a newer turnsignal switch that would give me the flash-to-pass and hazard switches.
The part numbers are obviously different between an '02 and '06 turn signal, but I don't know if the plugins are the same on the end.
As I understand the wiring, it shouldn't be any wiring different other then inside the switch. Could be wrong here, but thats what I'm seeing looking at the diagrams.
Thanks for the input

No hazards on VFRs 'til '04, and that switch is on the right side below the run/stop switch, and I don't think any stock VFR has ever had flash-to-pass, tho I wish they did.
You might be able to use a Suzuki or other stock handlebar switchgear with high/low beams switch, turn signals horn and flash-to-pass, but I'm not sure if any switchgears have the hazards switch on the left side. Plus I believe you'd still have to wire the hazards in on your bike.

Now that I think about it, the wiring diagram that I was looking at was for the '03+ Euro VFR.
Wonder why they didn't put the flash-to-pass on the US models.
I was more after the Hazards then the flash to pass anyway.
Thanks for the info y'all

Plug-n-play is folly; haven't seen a Honda switch pod I couldn't re-wire, though...
(ROW models have always had Passing switches, AFAIK, though that could have changed recently with the switch (har, har) to always-on headlights on Hondas worldwide since ca. 2004.)
Ciao,

Europeans are more educated, civil and m/c friendly and they all know what the Flash to Pass is and move over for you.
Here in the US it will get you shoot by an ignorant dumb azz !

On mine (5th gen) there is what looks to be a "knock out" at about the spot where a flash-to-pass trigger could be put... so I imagine the Euro models have a properly functioning left switch pod. hazards would be handy every so often.
Anyone with a Euro bike handy that can see if they have flash to pass/hazards? :D

Hazard switch situated just above the starter button.

I don't know about the 5th, but the 3rd and 4th gen do not have a hazard switch but a three position light switch (off/city light/main).
The pass triggerswitch is on the left clipon opposite to the turn signal switch. 3rd to 6th gens have a pass switch, not sure about older models.

Here is a pic with a better view on the switch. This is the switch of my 3rd gen.

It works better than advertised

I have a Euro switch for the 5th gen's that I never got a chance to install, yet...
It will be going on the bar when the rebuild starts (sometime next week I hope).
