Excellent idea! I've had to hit the search box a few times to track down stuff I need to know for my own mods.
It's almost time for a specific FrankenViffer Forum page... waddayareckon HS?
I have some additional links and data to add but the info is on my work pc... will update on Monday.

Thanks Don, though my woefully outdated webpage is in serious need of an overhaul.

I third the notion of a FrankenViffer specific page. There's too much good information here to just leave scattered about.

Fourth! I think the mutant VFR's need their own space! There are only so many possible threads about voltmeters, oil, and PC3's. Where are the ones with FCR's, Durbahn parts, single-nut hubs, and other fun things? :P B)

Bump...Slammer, Baileyrock, Canuck? Anybody?
Looks like the better thing to do now woudl be to compile all information into a web page, then just link to it from the VFRD website. It wouldn't generate any traffic to VFRD once word gets out and it's spidered, which is what a VFRD located Frankenviffer web page would do, but hey...looks like the mods just don't have any interest in a Frankenviffer specific forum.

Frankenviffer update:
1. 3rd gen frankenviffer. Ducati ST3 clip-ons on my 3rd gen with 2000 R1 forks (50mm). All set to take to dealer for carb cleaning (I know, wussed out) and inspection. Wanted to make sure everything was tight in case a ham handed tow truck operator did something stupid, and went to tighten the allen bolts on the clip-on brackets and "SNAP", right across the mount. Oh well, always wanted Convertibars anyway. Still using RC51 upper triple, no need for 954/929 upper.
2. RC211V replica. VF1000R motor in a 97 VFR frame. Dropped frame over motor. Motor mount on the rear bottom lines up, but motor in 1/2" wider than frame, but lots of material on frame for a little custom fitting. Looks like rear motor mount will line up too. Front one looks like it will take a little wing mount to reach lower frame mount, but all in all, very promising. All the other parts (less fairing, yet) here for rough assembly. Looks almost stock.
All the news that's fit to print. No pics yet, but soon. I appear good to finish one bike and mod one bike a year, at this rate.

Yes, I saw the Gimp years ago, but he put that motor in a 86? frame. He said it was relatively bolt up. I think it still will be, but adding the RC211V bodywork will require a few "engineering" mods.
RC51 front end down to wheel.
Probably 954 clipons.
Probably CBR1000RR radiator. I have the VF1000R ones, but they are 2 pieces and PROBABLY won't fit. Stock VF does not have a oil cooler, but block is cast for one. I will be adding one, probably from a RC51.
97 frame and 93 swingarm with 5 spoke rear wheel.
The TYGA rear tail looks like it can handle a center up can. The 2nd one will be on the right side, ala Nicky.
Looks like VFROEM did the hard work and fitted VFR400 bodywork, so I don't think the front will be real difficult. Contempleting a set of CBR1000RR gauges. Small and fully electronic. All I need is the wiring diagram for contacts.
The biggest problem I foresee, making the exhaust system. I foresee either a lot of time, or major $$$. Anyne know a tubing bender in Dallas/Ft Worth area?
Already got my painter lined up and decals are already in production for the CBR1000RR Nicky special.
So, what do you think? A Nicky Replica helmet maybe?

Sounds cool. Can't wait to see it evolve.
The Gimp used a VF750F frame. From '83-'85. It's a steel perimeter frame for sure.
The '86 used an aluminum beam type frame, so it's not that.

Capn,
I only used the 97 frame because that way no cast in vents and visible shock tower. The tower is all tucked in. Means a shock compatible with a 4th gen frame. Oh, A RC51 shock from Racetech. External reservior, right length and rebuilt with a new Ohlins VFR spring. Perfect.
Very little difference otherwise.
Too many projects.

Is the gimp a person or a bike? You guys with the Frankenbikes, toiling away in the garage are nuts!
In a good way though. I like the pics and results, but too much work, I'll stick to my Stockenviffer. I just wanna ride. Carry on. With pics! -_-
