I have say, do option #1. There's just something deeply primal about taking what was once neglected, abused and discarded and returning it to its former beauty. But then, I'm a hopeless romantic and a tinker at heart. I'd pick the runt of the litter or cheer for the underdog given the choice. And I'd spend more money than I should doing the reno without batting an eye, much to my wife's chagrin... Wicked Cindy is a case in point.

I was actually looking for a Buell when I found "Cindy". Would still like to have one, but I don't consider a Buell a "harley".
I'm only 54 now, so I consider myself a little young for a HD cruiser 
but if I ever go for the cross country touring scene with the little woman I'd be mighty tempted to get a big HD bagger... Still wouldn't catch me with the dew-rag, hd badge, no-protective gear wearing poser/costume crowd.
And yes, I suppose from what I know from coming to VFRD that it's a little unfair of me to put my bike up against a vrod since it's red... Maybe if I had one of the slower colors?
