I had a week off , so did a mate , going north sounded good. I left ride planning to him as im basicaly lazy. And so it began . The plan was keep off the highway where possible . For aussies we went out thru wisemans ferry, st albans,bucketts way , thunderbolts way, waterfall way to brisbane . Coming home down to ebor then out thru logging roads to kempsey, cut back to the putty road for the last hit of the twisties before home . Hi from down under , first time doing this so we will see how it goes, forgive my mistakes please.  After a week of rain the ride  plan that had hatched in a moment of enthusiasm ( stupidity ? )  was here.  The starters  one 99 vfr800 (immaculate) one BMW 1200GS and my vfr 800 98 mod ( well used with battle scars )

We were heading from Penrith ( sydney ) to Wombeyan Caves coming home via Marulan.  The first 90km were on expressway to Mittagong where we refuelled ourselves and the bikes . Coffee was good and we were all looking forward to the real ride , especially the gs rider . After leaving Mittagong the next 30km was tar .From then on except for a small section it would be on dirt roads  wombeyan caves 017.JPG   40.49K   19 downloads

Leaving the picnic area we headed towrds Taralga , a couple of km of tar then nice smooth dirt

Tar started a couple of km from Taralga and went for a bout 20km till we turned off again ( great tar or maybe just great by comparison )

At Marulan back on the tar for the run home . We all had a great time and are looking forward to the next tar optional run
