Mr.RC45 is awful at lawful speeds... that's why I never ride without
my trusty a Bel 975r Remote radar detector...

I fabricated a special Delrin mount and blends the gauges with the
warning pod... I used wax transfer letters to spell out "Oh Shit"

I fabricated a small Delrin box to house the antenna and mounted it

There's always Techmount: http://www.techmounts.com. I used them on two brands of bikes for my V1.

Why do you need all that vfr exhaust noise. I run a wire to the ear for my radar. Personally I think the V1 is alittle too busy to use on a motocycle. I prefer the automated ones that do everything for you. I mount mine on the tank bag, some day I'll get a ram mount.

Howdy,

I have my radar detector mounted inside the front fairing, on the left hand side. It is secured to the horizontal part directly below the left clip on using 3M dual lock. I run a Radar Screamer horn, mounted to the frame just behind the steering head. This has worked out well, no moisture problems. The bike has been ridden in all kinds of weather, sat in the rain on at work, and on camping trips. Five years, no problems with equipment or LEO.
Hope this helps.

I have my RX-65 in a ziplock freezer bag with some duct tape to keep it out of the rain (and make it look not like a radar detector) on a RAM magnetic base via the clutch. It sits high enough to see ahead and is slightly to the left of me that it can 'see' behind as well. I went with the magnetic base as it goes back and forth between bike and car. The radar box is a good choice if you want something more secure.

So, for those of us who will never get to experience such a great race bike, BLS, at what speed would Mr. RC45 hypothetically-of course- be happy?? I know next to nothing about faster bike than my '03, which is already too fast for me needs.

This video will demonstrate where I mounted mine. Don't mind the bouncy bounce, courtesy 'youtube' stabilizing.

Made a bracket from a side PC panel, mounted between mirror & Lobster mirror extender.
Power & audio with a velcro securing strap. Audio goes back to Amplirider amp/splitter. Volume control just below dash.
Female 3mm audio connector at the seat / gas tank where I plug in my ear buds.
Radar overides GPS voice instructions (Sally) and MP3 music.
I'm not lost, I'm just checking every possible route . . .

I have been happy with the V-1 as set up on a couple different motorcycle models. When I had it mounted on my 5th gen, I located the main unit within the fairing to the right of the headlights. I wrapped it in bubble wrap and a stout plastic bag for waterproofing. I located the power adapter and the sound units in the rear seat fairing, also in plastic. I installed a coiled wire near the front of the seat to connect my earbuds. I also installed a remote visual indicator, velcroed to the dash area and removable for public parking and wet weather. This set up worked very well for both front and rear radar, but lacked laser protection. I do not find laser indication to be of much value for avoiding a citation. I like the main unit located secure within the fairing. I did not worry about theft or weather.

My current CBR does not have a convenient mounting location within a fairing. I have mounted the main, power and sound units in a small powered tank bag with a quick release. http://www.twistedth...tview/2342/451/ The remote visual indicator is velcroed to the dash gauge pod. This also works well for front and rear radar, although the rear radar may be somewhat weaker due to main unit placement.

In both applications, I also use a GPS input for directions and music, a mixing amplifier and a noise filter.

Perhaps your 6th gen will have a space in the fairing.
