These are the accidents that hurt the most, easier to swallow when you're pushing it and you stuff up... Sorry I can't help with your questions but I wish you luck...

Is there any way to remove the bolt on the mirror arm? From underneath I can see it has a thread but no known head, maybe I can have the mirror welded
------------------
nevermind, its an allen bolt but had a plastic plug, i hope i can have it fixed by tomorrow, next week i will have the paint touched up

Could be worse.
Coming into the garage the other day, hit the switch from the street and continued riding up the driveway. Door opened just above the view of the top rim of the helmet then suddenly stopped. Of course, I didn't notice.
Rode in, whacked my head,
wrenched my neck backward. Hurt like hell and couldn't turn my head for a couple days.
Bummer about your bike but it happens, and it's an easy fix. The sting of scratches on a 20-day new bike will fade.

damn that sucks =(
Welding the mirror gets mixed reviews because of the material it is made of. I talked to a few welders and they suggested against it but some people on the site state that it works just fine.
You can get an EMGO replacement which seem to be a perfect match from what I read when looking for a replacement. If going OEM, there are no other ones that will work apart from a 02-09 VFR unfortunately.
Good luck!

Similar thing happened to me a few months ago and I bought an EMGO aftermarket replacement that it is nearly identical to the OEM and for half the cost I think it was around $35 or so. Just buy a replacement and don't fool with welding or trying to fix the one you have.
