Greetings all. First post. Twenty years ago I bought a 1990 VFR750F but has long since been gone. This weekend I bought a 2001 in very good shape and want to raise the bars or replace with Helibars (I knew I'd be doing this before buying). I removed the clipons pinch bolts and this of course loosened the bars. But, I couldn't lift them up the fork tube. I tried gently prying it open a bit with a screwdriver but it wouldn't budge. I know I'm missing something as they sem like they should just come right off. What am I not seeing? Thanks! Chris.

Hi - Welcome to VFRD - I have a 5th gen as well. - -You are missing to take off the circlip at the top of the fork tubes. Aint no way no how the bars are going to go over those clips. -- Honda calls it a stop ring...
