Gday All.
Hope someone maybe able to assist on this one.
I have a Red 2005 VFR800 that has run flawlessly since I've had it until yesterday.
On returning from a ride, I indicated to turn a corner and the engine stopped. I restarted and indicated again and the engine stopped again.
I rode a little further and the same thing happened again. I pulled over and the same happened a couple more times till all of a sudden the indicators (all four and the green indicating light) stopped working altogether. I assumed a short somewhere and a blown fuse. I got the bike home and did nothing further.
This morning things have changed. When I now turn the ignition on, I get an ongoing buzzing (apart from the initial fuel injection noise). The indicators sort of work now. The rears work fine but both fronts come on dimly together as well as all dash lighting flashing in time with the indicators. The hazards do the same. This all is regardless of whether the engine is running or not.
What a mess...
Any idea's from anyone at all???
Thanks for reading...

check your battery...is it fully charged. Could be an earthing problem also. Also you could spray some WD40 in the handle switches.

Anything like this video?

Check the blue connector on the left side of the bike. You'll want to pull it apart to make sure it's not melted. Sometimes it's hard to tell until it's apart. Also check the wiring near the starter relay where fuse B is located for overheating/melting.

CLICK HERE for all the details and how to sort it out. The recall that replaces the front harness helps but doesn't completely cure the issues. Check out the VFRarness from Wiremybike to help keep it from happening again.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the responses.
But now I have some news for you all. Not sure if you are all aware.
The VFR800's have a recall for replacement of the front wiring loom... For the life of the bike... Apparently they were melting and causing issues like mine. Luckily I found out from a knowledgeable and helpful mechanic. I'll get him a case of beer.
Called Honda Australia and they confirmed it after checking my VIN number! Happy days. My bike is now in being repaired under the recall. For free!
I would assume this would apply around the world but can't be sure.
Hope this helps...
