Finally got the bike('90VFR) on the road last night -noticed a ticking noise while it was warming up-seemed to be coming from the left front cylinder. Once the engine was hot enough to have the fan run (stuck in traffic), the noise went away completely. bike runs fine, haven't run enough to do a mileage check.
Sound normal or?

My bike makes the same noise in the same place when its cold. Once it warms up it goes away. Mine has 12k mi on the clock.

The ticking is probably coming from that 8 spoke rear wheel. Lucky for you I am willing to do an even swap and give you my newer 6th Gen wheel.

BTW......Both my previous and current 3rd Gen did the same until warm and I never had any issues. You may also want to check all the exhaust bolts to make sure they are tight since minor exhaust leaks can produce similar ticking sounds.

Strange how many people mentioned it was probably that 8 spoke wheel- that's why I had it crushed. And yet, the ticking remained.
