I need a new front tire pretty soon and need to decide what to get. I have the PR2 on the rear and love it so far. At the moment, the front has a Pilot Power on it.

Does anyone have experience with the PR2 vs. the PR3? I cant get them for close to the same price, the PR3 will be just a few extra bucks, Im just wondering if it is much better than the PR2, or what i should get.

Supposedly better in the wet weather with no loss of performance in the dry.

If its only a couple bucks more, go for the newer tire, then you can get the matching rear later when yours is toast.

We strongly recommend that you use only genuine Honda accessories that have been specifically designed and tested for your motorcycle. We strongly advise you not to remove any original equipment or modify your motorcycle in any way that would change its design or operation. Such changes could seriously impair your motorcycle’s handling, stability and braking, making it unsafe to ride.

going from Pilot power front to p road 2 is slightly slower steering, some think the ppower front is too fast for the rear, others prefer Ppower front and proad2 rear more than the full set of proad 2's.

Personally I dont run sport tours on the front < but I havent ran the road 3 rear yet , but Im afraid with all the sniping its given up some life, eventually I'll ride one though.

At this years Tmac, I used the BR combo of PR2 rear and Power front. There is no better set up. I had to be a throttle monkey to get the slightest slide outta the PR2 and that damn thing will still give me almost 10,000 commuting miles to boot. I am sold.

Can I convince you to paint it flat black?

Just when we thought the Early VFR section was safe...

I just switched from a 180/120 PP combo on my 4th gen. to a 170/120 PR3 combo and while noticeably slower on turn in, the PR3's seem to stick very well. I'm hoping to get more than my mnormal 18-2200 miles out of the rear and 3K out of the front.

Anyone find a good deal on PR3 rear? Need to get one put on before I ride again.

I picked up a PR3 at Wheeler's during TMac. No complaints. I rode home on a used up PR2 rear. It is so slick that I stopped in Cleveland TN to avoid riding on the slab through Chattanooga in the rain. I was glad the cords didn't come though before I got home.

I've ridden over 30k miles with two other local riders rip-pen twisties over the last 8 years. We all get very similar ware rates and often run the same type tires. George had been running PR2's, but tried a set of PR3's for a 4 day run we did over to the TN/NC mtns. His comments were: Superb Wet grip, not as solid pushing them hard in dry conditions as the PR2.

So I'm saying if you ride a lot of Wet conditions and don't push the limits of the bike the PR3's would be the way to go, otherwise I suggest PR2's.

I have no problem backing off a little in the rain so looks like maybe stick with the PR2 for me. Thanks for the input.
