I really need to take a course in welding...

Check for local vocational schools, I asked for a mig welding course years ago at work and they sent me to a night class at the local Questar/votec center. Was a good class, and IIRC, the cost was reasonable.

I learned tig through OJT for the apprenticeship I did at work.

I have a rear brake setup and second swingarm on the way for this beast. Hope to have them Sunday along with the big honking extension cord I need for the tig. :fing02:

yeap, every spring the local community college offers a course. I'm waiting for the list of courses flyer to come out in the paper. I was |*| that close to taking it last spring...

The guy that ran my class was pretty cool, the class was for mig, but the school's shop had stick and tig units as well. He let a few guys try their hands at the other machines, and did a run down on oxy/ace torch use as well. (another piece of equipment I want here at some point!)

Thanks Red! This one is air cooled, that's just a drawer in the bottom of the cart there. I don't plan to do any long hot welds, so I should be fine without the cooler. Also, I removed the hand control as the machine came with a new foot pedal and I much prefer the foot control.

I just realized I could install my chrome F4i wheels after the suspension swap... hrmm... that would piss off the purists, now wouldn't it?

I think a lot of people would question the whole 'parts bin bike' part of it.

Some bikes end up being a project. Yoshi manages to make it a career.

No no no. This is the precision toolboard. The hammer resides elsewhere.
