This route incorporates the best roads in British Columbia as well as one of the best in Washington. Were thinking we may break it into two groups, one moderately paced take in the scenery group and one quicker take full advantage of the road group. We'll decide when we meet up.

Dates:

2010 - JULY 17, 18, 19

Quote

START in Abbotsford at the Tim Hortons SOUTH of Hwy 1 closest to the border. Aiming for a 7AM Departure. 1255 Sumas Way
Abbotsford‎ BC‎ V2S
Canada

There's a gas station on the North West corner of Hwy 9 and Hwy 20. That's where we will hook up with the Sedro riders, make sure you're already fueled up.

It's a quick stop and pickup. For the people leaving from Sumas the first gas stop is Marblemount also another meet point (0845hrs). Day one is going to be a longish day so we gotta keep the extraneous stuff to a minimum so we can do more important things like stop, rest, eat and enjoy the scenery.

Were leaving Sumas at 7am so providing the border doesn't hold us up I would be ready at that Sedro gas station for 0745hrs.

SEDRO MEET POINT

Might meet you during the ride for parts of it. I have family living in Trail, so may also bypass Nelson.
I've done those roads many times and yes they are worth it. I'll be doing at least 4 loops through there this summer.
Planning 2 weeks + for the VFRD PNW meet this summer so I have to balance t/o.
Have a Vision. Keep the Faith. Believe until it becomes Real.
I'm not lost, I'm just checking every possible route.

Ooh... that might be nice. I'd like to add a day or two to give more goofin' time or be able to stop if you come acrooss something spectacular. But definately looks interesting!

Will keep it in mind as we start planning our 2010 rides. Cheers! E-Ticket

I am going to try to make half of the trip.
Catch you in Vernon to Abbotsford then to the Island or Nelson to Kamloops and back to Edmonton.
Marked on the calnder and try to work something out.

The boss still hasn't approved the July 17th day off. Looks like I may need asisstance in applying some pressure to a few limbs to speed up the process.

Tell your boss that it is far cheaper than a real shrink and may avoid you "snapping" during the summer... Just saying.

Are they going to be asking me how much it weighs and what the range is? :musik20:

I will have a VFR1200 and I will be riding in the Koots this summer... whether I can join your ride I can't say for sure yet but I'm gonna try.

JasonSmith,

What time are you leaving Abby for the border on the 17th? Trying to redo my vacation time.

We usually meet at the Tim Hortons down the road from the boarder for an 8am start, maybe slightly earlier in this case.

Not too much earlier I hope. I get off work at 01:30 that day. Maybe I will just stop there on the way home and sleep in the parking lot. JS you can wake me up when you get there.

All of a sudden, this three day jaunt seems ... somewhat doable. I mean I may be able to argue with better half in favor of getting some of my sanity back with this, and it is only three days, right? I'm seriously working on a kitchen pass and I'm keeping these dates open (possible conflict with canoe trip which required negotiations too...). Will keep you updated.

I don't know most of you guys but I hope this ride is open to strangers...
