I'm debating this. I know that you can do it, with some compromises, and that it will feel different than a 120/70, but I don't want to deal with waiting another two weeks or so to get my exchanged tire. I've formulated two major scenarios.

1) return the tire and get the right size. While your tire is being shipped and processed, I'd be able to send my rotor to will's and get it straightened for cheap. BUT the tire will cost me another 10% plus shipping back.

2) Run the tire and get the rotor straightened locally and get the bike together within a week. Cost to straighten rotor will be at least $30 more.

No one is interested in buying the tire, so its either return or run.

*EDIT* I should probably mention that, assuming the bike is still running, my dad will probably be getting the bike in a month or so. So having the tire a little less edgy than normal is fine.

Yes, there is a differece, but you won't really notice it that much in normal riding. If you like to have a little fun here and there a 70 would be better. I've used a 60 on the street and track and it works ok.

I ran one for the exact same reason you are, it is a bit bumpy compared to the 70 but it turned in nice, I had to lower the rear a bit and raise up the preload on the front a bit to get it to feel right.

I'm going to run it. Can't get a hold of Will, though I'm sure he's a bit busy right now. No one else around here can straighten rotors. I'm just going to run it until I get a hold of Will. Rather pissed at the fact that with just this tire change, i'll spend more than it would to buy that HF tire changer. My guy back home was awesome. While $40 is still a bit much for some people, you would give him an hour heads up, ride down, he would drop whatever he was doing, and 10 minutes later you'd have fresh rubber.

If my dad wasn't tempting me for a ride this weekend, I'd just wait for that tire changer to come in and be done with it.

You know, it doesn't really matter what tire you have on there IF YOU NEVER RIDE THE THING!!!!

Next time you need tires, plan to ride to my place. Ship the tires here, and enjoy the last life of your old tires on the way out. I have the HF changer, and I also have a local guy that charges $10/wheel to mount(no balance). I balance at home, then put the wheels back on the bike. Then you have 4.5 hours to scuff them in...
