I just mounted a set of scorpion syncs, actually about 1,000mi back. I know this may seem like an odd choice but after riding several bikes that use them as standard (ducati, Buell) I thought I'd try them out.
grip, is superb on the dry, and also the wet. one nice thing is if you have to hit a gravel road or dirt or grass drive they are much better than typical. They clear water on the road well.
warm up, typical Pirelli very quick.
Handling, I would say precise (not fast or slow) not tippy, and do not ever hit that magical fall in point, push a little get a little, push a lot get a lot. Even pressure on the turn in, but pretty light.
Road feel, lots of feed back (unlike pr2, or ct's), they do not white line thus far at all, a big improvement over the storm and diablo here.
noise, A bit louder than some under the front fender, not unusual in large widely spaced lug patterns.
smoothness, You can just pick up the wide lug spacing if you are trying to nap.
mileage, ? do not know yet expecting about 5,500 based on other bikes we'll see
running them at 36f/42r.
The vffr for me is a fun bike that I take out and use as a sport bike in the mtns. not an every day commuter or tourer (the strom aces it for that)
It also helped talking to Eric a few weeks back about all the tires they tried on the Buells looking for the stock tires (believe it or not they tried just about every one)
$ 279 mounted and balanced.

Scorpion Syncs, Inital Impressions A different choice from the normal suspects but so far a good one

I have a set of sync's on my DRZ 400 supermoto right now. They are alright tires. Once they warm up, they grip well and in rain, gravel, mud, ect they do better than a typical motorcycle tire. They will probably last a while, at least 5k on the rear. I put 2k on the rear so far with little evidence of wear.
For my VFR, I normally run the CORSA III's or Rossos, but I suppose these could work as well.
