Track Tires: Where Can I Get Them? Pirelli? Michelin? Continental? Rain?

Since I sold the majority of my stuff, I'm looking for a few things that our fellow racers might know where and what to get.
I think I found the bodywork on Ebay, but I'm looking for tires too. I need 160/17 and 120/17.
I trying to get another set of wheels and keep the rain set on ready to go.
I have an F3
Thanks,
SG
PS: I don't mind take offs since I'll only do track days this year.

They aren't exactly "brand' new, but close. Probably about 100 miles on them.

I found a guy who has a pair of Michelin race take offs on Ebay for $40 + $25 shipping. I contacted him to see if he had Pirellis. And sure enough he had a few sets. He emailed me pictures, we agreed on a price and there we are. I can't even buy a rear tire for that price here.

I would stick with SC2's and 1's are really soft(especially rears) and will burn up quick.
Here's what was a nice Take-off SC1 after only 1 or maybe two sessions at Tally, it's shagged and has cold tire tearing on it also. Too Soft!

I always like the opinion of a real fast guy. Thanks, Kevin.
Just remember that in May in BC, it's really not that hot. SC1's in May (and God knows, probably the rains), and the SC2's for the July. Then, I'll buy more. And more, and more. I just received an email telling me about a package for track days if you buy 6. Humm!

I always figured you would want softer tires for colder temps!
That's one thing I did learn this past track season and it sounds like you think how I thought, that you would want softer tires for colder temps. Turns out that is Not the case and why I had the cold tire tearing of this soft SC1, knowing it was going to be cold/cool at the track is why I picked up a SC1 in the first place. When I distroyed this tire in only 1 or 2 sessions I brought it to the Tire guys who told me it was To Cold for a soft tire??
I can't remember exactly what he explained, but basically said you needed a firmer/harder compond to resist the movement & tearing that happens to soft tires in cold temps. He said the medium compond SC2 would work much better and last longer in the cool temps.
Look into it before you ruin your track day with the wrong tire that will trash out super quickly!

Hey Jeff! Long time no see! No, I don't think I'll be at any of these track days. The June 29th for sure, and I'm hoping to go June 12th as well. I just bought these plastics for my F3
Yesterday, I changed the clutch and the rear brakes. The bike is cleaned up, and it should look a ton better. The guy I bought the tires from had 180's for your VFR. But since you got some, lets not bother with this. Check the racers at the track. You'll find great deals too. If you go on the 15th, I'll go and see you at the track after work. Maybe we can have a cold one.
Cheers,
SG
