I just got a pair from my local shop at cost to try them out and give a review. Not a 2C tire like the mich. 2ct's.

I ran across them tonite n posted a topic too then saw this one..
Are they dual compound, The Pirelli website didnt actually state that they were but implied the rear will wear with the front so you dont have the problem of replacing the rear before you toast the front.. Or as they basically put it the problem of running 1 worn n 1 new..

I looked around a bit...
This is what I found
Product Description
* The new concept tire from Pirelli is called the Diablo Rosso. Instead of using multi- compounds, they use what is called EPT (Enhanced Patch Technology) to ensure a better grip and better performance on the road.
* Based on their leading experience in the motorcycle racing world, they produced this tire for the street legal (super)sports motorcycles. Sports motorcycles have been increasing their power and torque over the last decade, and the tires need to follow this trend. Current tires are limited, hence the reason Pirelli came out with a new concept.
* The structure design is aimed to maximize - at every lean angle and every speed - the contact patch; in terms of area, shape and pressure. This combination supports the tread to reach an unbeatable level of grip and stability. The tire structure has been designed in order to get the set synchronized into balanced behavior, with the 2 tires perfectly matched in dynamic use.
* The patented Zero Degrees steel belt below the tread keeps the tires in the most suitable shape at all times and yet provides enough elasticity for a very progressive feedback and behavior in lean, allied to unbeatable bump absorption. With the support of the compound the zero degrees steel belt also guarantees huge braking stability.

Duh , oops I must have read the first paragraph too fast..
Let us know how long they last you and if the rear actually lives as long as the front..
Not to be skeptic but i'm real curious If the front wears even or not..

I had them on my bike for the last 250 miles. While i didn't get to really get them tested, i did go thrash them a little. Turn in isn't as agressive as the power, but seemed a little faster then the M3. Front didn't seem to provide feedback like a Power or M3. One thing that did impress me was the lack of wheel spin at full throttle while leaned over... 2nd gear around 9k i opened it completely up while exiting a turn. The front got super light, but the rear stayed planted. I did also mess with some trail braking. That is where the tire felt most vague to me. Either i wasn't pushing it enough or the front is just that vague.
I did not get to try them out in the rain. I was skeptical of what the rear was going to be like in the rain. It is a slick on the outer 3/4" of rubber. Think DOT race rubber. I will try another set. I want to see what they are capable of mileage wise... and up in the mountains!

any updates on this tire? i recently road the diablo to the ozarks and LOVED them. they were extremely light up front and quick to turn in (felt much quicker then the pp's i normally run). assuming life is short like everyone else said, maybe the new rosso will be better.
so has anyone run the diablo and the diablo rosso and can compare? any mileage update on the rosso?

I just put some on this morning and will be (hopefully) going to indy on them next week. I'll try to remember to give some feedback when I get back.

I have around 2500 on my set. (I know I said I would never run anything put Pilot Power 2cts... but they didn't have any) Very good tires. Good grip and the wear looks very good so far. One odd thing, I can't get the last 1/4 of chicken strip off these dang things. Usually the first trip through the Gap and the Mich. Man's head is gone. Must be a profile thing. The turn in is not as quick as the Powers but all in all, these are the 2nd best tires I've had, next to the 2cts that is.
