Vfrd In Palomar And Duc2V4 In Jagerhaus.

Vfrd In Palomar And Duc2V4 In Jagerhaus. Halloween blew by like a cheap taffeta dress covered in trashy make-up and discount booze. I didn't see so many costumes as I did outfits suitable for runways which encourage dollar bill insertion. It's a wonder to me why people feel compelled to abandon their self-respect on this pseudo-holiday and run around shaming their families.

But then...

Square Pies, Mountain Roads, and MSF You know that old joke about a kid learning Geometry and argues the formula Pi*r^2 (Pi r squared)? The kids says, "Pies aren't square!"

*play laugh track*

Yeah well, pies typically aren't squared, unless you pack them up freshly baked and then go tearing about on very tight mountain roads.

I rode into Julian today to pick up a...

Victory at Laguna Seca - Cancer Undone (and other stories - PIC HEAVY)

Victory at Laguna Seca - Cancer Undone (and other stories - PIC HEAVY) Last year, Laguna Seca was a desperate act of fulfillment. The ride up the coast was more of a race against an internal beast which couldn't be seen but so horribly felt. The Corkscrew was an indomitable feat that monstered us. It was all so familiar but suddenly so overwhelming. What was a yearly tradition became, just this one time, a nightmare...

Not a ride report. More of a non-ride report. Consider this a life report from a rider who has been deprived of proper 2-wheeled time. Everyday is 3 miles on surface streets to work, then another 3 miles back home. Sundays I ride the usual Santiago Canyon or Ortega Highway routes, have breakfast, then return home. Garage time is minimal at best and...

This road is the reason motorcycles dominate Palomar Mountain. It's not an easy road and it's ranked as the most technical road in California. This is a snap shot of it. More map views in the entry...

Just another Orange County winter.

The past two weeks have been nearly perfect in terms of weather. January saw two days of cold and one day of rain. The rest were mid-70's to upper-80's. I have not managed to do too much riding due to a heavy workload and health issues. This past Friday had me in...

Ride Report. Life Report.

Another year, another mod. Shaved the seat foam after figuring out that my feet weren't flat not because of the height of the bike but because of...

The story starts well enough and continues to get better. The rides were perfect. The roads were clear. The police were absent. The weather was amazing. It was all storybook until the final 44 miles when the ride turned tragic, the roads became jammed, and the police came for me. In hindsight, I...
